Beautiful photo! I feel the need to hold my breath being so close to the water level.

Technically, your title is a John Lennon song (just like Bard's bathroom shot) not a Beatle Lyric. But I'm sure the judges will let it slide.

I absolutely love the perspective, down so close on the water. Beautifully done!

A very pleasant image though it is well exposed and the colours are beautiful, it seems to be cut in half by the strip of land...Then again i'm a lover of the rule of thirds.... Lovely relaxing image all the same...

thirds

Yes, Kenny, I actually tend to agree with your comment about it being cut in half rather than thirds. I try to follow the rule of thirds, too. I think it works. In the original, pre-cropped image the water in fact extended down below significantly more into virtual blackness. -I held the camera VERY close to the water in my kayak... But, due to the image size limitations on postings here I clipped off that black band to allow the rest of the image to be larger, bringing in more of the details of the trees on the left and the wisps of the fogbank on the right. Perhaps I shouldn't have done so.
Thanks for your insightful commentary!

Great shot

This shot leaped off the gallery thumbnail page. Beautiful water and sky and subtle colour in the clouds and their reflections. I also appreciate what appears to be mist on the water in the near distance.

The land doesn't bisect the frame in my eyes. To me there is enough sky to prevent this. Anyway, photographic rules are there to be broken and not always to be followed - even one as ingrained as the 'Thirds' Commandment!

I'm surprised this is f/6.3 - you seem to have large depth of field here. If you intend to dangle your camera out of your kayak in future, you may wish to invest in a waterproof case!
