He got joo joo eye ball(s)

He got joo joo eye ball(s)

He got joo joo eye ball(s)
Description: Here come old flat top
He come grooving up slowly
He got joo joo eye ball...Come Together.

A newbie cicada just out of it's shell and waiting for its wings to dry.

Photo taken @ 10:22pm using a halogen flashlight.
Canon 10D
1/6
f/2.8
200iso
105mm macro
I tried longer exposures with higher f/ values, but they all came out over exposed. I was shaking the flashlight back/forth to try to get even lighting.

:o)

It is interesting how their wings are green when coming out. We have these coming out here during the day here. I guess they are running late. ;o) Back in the Arizona desert the cicadas are smaller and black and white with a fringe color of red near the head and in the mountains they are the larger size, similar to the ones I find here in WI. Having grown up knowing the smaller ones I was stunned to see how big they got. We used to tie a string to them and fly them. lol. And when I was younger I would hunt one at night that came out of the ground and let it hatch in my bedroom to find it in the morning. lol
